WE'RE MOVING TO GERMANY!

What I did when I first found out we were going to Germany:

1. Felt like I was going to throw up
2. Cried
3. Went to the gym
4. Called my parents
5. Found out RC's unit
6. Googled Germany
7. Calmed down
8. Got excited!
9. Googled the easiest/quickest/cheapest way to Paris.
10. Got scared again.

Above is a recap of my emotions on the first day I found out. To say it was a roller coaster of emotions is an understatement. I would start out with excitement. Then the reality of it all would hit and I would be scared out of my mind. Here we are two days from the announcement and now there's just excitement. This is an amazing opportunity for us! We are being put in an amazing position. Now traveling around Europe will be so much more convenient and economical. We will be able to actually live in the culture and experience day-to-day life in a foreign country. This is something we've talked about doing, but was never on our radar as a possibility. With all that being said, I'm definitely aware of how much we are going to be missing out on in our family and friend's lives. Within the next couple years my parent's will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, 50th birthdays, one brother will graduate high school, and the other will graduate college. Hopefully I will be able to fly home for a number of those occasions, but it will definitely be an adjustment!

What I'm Looking Forward to:
During my junior year of college I was able to travel to London, Brussels, and Paris during Spring Break. It was an amazing trip and definitely gave me the travel bug! The whole time I was there, seeing all these amazing landmarks, I wished RC was there to experience it with me. Now we can! :)

If anyone has lived or visited Germany, I would love to hear your stories! I would really love to pick someone's brain about the differences of living overseas! :) Also, please keep us in your prayers as this is going to be a long and what seems to be tedious process. This is going to be a HUGE move and our first. We are going to need all the help and support we can get!

Happy 4 Months!

Yesterday was our 4 month anniversary! Since it was the first time we were able to celebrate/acknowledge it together and in person, I decided to make some sweet treats. Red Velvet Cupcakes! Heart shaped, of course… Happy 4 months! Love you, babe!

Walking Contradiction

I have to admit I'm kind of a walking contradiction. My guy friends, who are just as baseball obsessed as me, shake their heads in confusion when I admit my love and obsession with Keeping Up with the Kardashians. My girlfriends who I laugh, squeal, and cry through chick-flicks with don't understand my ability to sit through 3 hours worth of baseball and anguish over base-running errors. I don't blame them. I flip between E! and ESPN all the time. I need that perfect balance of drama on the field and on the television screen.

This was perfectly illustrated when I was watching 'At Home with Jason Heyward' during the Braves rain delay. I perked up when they introduced the segment, turned up the volume, and got a little giddy while listening to Hayward's childhood and rise through the minor leagues. I event got goosebumps when the replayed JHay's HR in his FIRST at bat as a major leaguer against Carlos Zambrano. Then a few minutes I switch over to Keeping Up with the Kardashians to see Kim's proposal and same thing! Giddy and anxiously waiting to see how Kris would propose. (By the way, I'm totally a fan of Kris Humphries. Who, I might add, is a million times better than Kris Jenner. The woman is crazy and definitely the most immature of all the Kardashians and that includes Kendall and Kylie.)

So, I confess. I'm guilty. I'm a walking contradiction. I'm just as comfortable in a tshirt and baseball hat watching a game as I am all dolled up with the girls squealing over a chick-flick.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Today marks one week that we've been in Army Town #1. And what a week it has been! This past week has been a lot of fun as we've figured out how to navigate around town/post, worked out at the amazing facility center on post, cooked some yummy food, and watched lots and lots of football. (Extra bonus: I caught up on my guilty pleasures... Keeping up with the Kardashians and the Real Housewives.) It has been beyond amazing to spend this much time with my husband. I LOVE living with him. :)

I also LOVED the time I was able to spend time with dear friends before we left for Army Town #1. Saturday night I was reunited with 2/3 of my roomies! We hit up TTT's, had a few beers, went to Spittoono's, and it felt like I was in college all over again. :) During my Clemson trip I made sure to bring back some Clemson Sushi for the hubby. Great wife, huh? ;) If you are ever in the Clemson area you seriously need to stop by Clemson Sushi. YUM! I just wish I had a picture to show you how delicious they are. Best flavor and biggest rolls I've ever seen. I LOVE Clemson Sushi and just wish there would be one with us where ever the Army sends us!

Update in Army Town #1

So far life in Army Town #1 has been wonderful! If only for the fact that RC and I have been able to spend a ridiculous amount of time together. We've literally spent like every waking second together and I love it. This will soon change as RC has to get back to work, but actually living together with my husband has been wonderful!

I have to say, I'm pretty proud of myself. I've cooked 4 not only edible, but reeally good meals. After a summer of no cooking I was nervous about filling my hungry man's belly. So far I'd say I've succeeded. :) The menu? 1. chicken bog 2. chicken spaghetti 3. chicken, broccoli, and mashed potatoes 4. pot roast.

Dislikes:

I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate our internet right now. Our cable tv= awesome. Our internet? Not so much. I've spent over 2 hours with wireless router companies trying to get our wireless set up. TWO different brands and neither will connect to the modem. After wireless router brand #2 attempt, our internet completely went out. This was on Sunday and nobody could come to replace our modem until today (Tuesday). Hopefully, by noon today Mr. Internet Repairman will have shown up and fixed our internet. All I have to say is thank God for our iPhones and for the nice man/woman who hasn't locked their wireless network.

Tropical Storm Lee is being a pesky little bugger and leaving us with a lot of rain.

Georgia on My Mind

We're here! We've safely made it to Army Town #1. One Uhaul, one car in tow, and too many hours later we made it!

 The good news is everythings moved in. Now everything being unpacked is a whole 'mother story, but that can wait until another day because our internet/cable tv are set up and the Braves are on tv. So you will find us on the couch lounging after our long, long day. :)
